1. HOUSE VISITS:-

SEEMS has a unique practice of visiting each and every student’s house. Our respected principal Rev.Sr.Martina Vazhappilly, our vice principal Rev.Sr.Linta Tom and the concerned class teacher visit every household. Parents bring the teachers into their lives and talk openly during the house visit. Children take comfort in knowing that the teacher understands the condition of their home. A psychologist conducted a study at Missouri state university and found that the biggest benefit of house visit was a better understanding between the teacher and the student. These house visits help them perform better.

2. PADHEYAM – A HELPING HAND TO FEED THE HUNGRY:-

Another practice that SEEMS is proud of is the “Padheyam”- an initiative by the students to feed the hungry. Every month students bring food from their house and distribute to the poor and hungry on the street. Food is also distributed to the poor patients of medical college. The satisfaction of having a good meal on the face of the poor brings a twinkle in the eyes of the SEEMS family.

3. SEEMS APT:-

SEEMS has an association of parents and teachers called APT. The APT members strive for Excellence to make the school march ahead in the journey of success.

4. DEEDS OF CHARITY :-

SEEMS conducted a camp for free eye check up at the school premises. Expert doctors from Ahalaya Eye Hospital extended their valuable services. A music concert was held in the school. The money received through the sale of tickets was given away in charity for the poor patients who cannot meet the expense of the treatment. The road safety week was observed by the students of SEEMS. The chief of Traffic Police Shri.Babu inaugurated the Road safety week. A special team of students called SPG along with the teachers, see to it that the students are safe on the road outside the school and ensure that the students behave in a disciplined way.

5. CURSIVE WRITING:-

Students practice cursive writing for fifteen minutes every day in the morning at school. This helps them to improve the hand writing.

6. TUTOR SYSTEM:-

Every student is provided with a tutor to whom he or she can approach with his or her difficulties. The tutor is in charge of the students under her tutorship and guides them towards perfection.

7. MEDITATION:-

Students as well as teachers meditate with soft and soothening music for twenty minutes every day before the school winds up. This relaxes their soul and body.

8. WORKSHOP AND NEWS READING:-

Every Wednesday teachers conduct workshop or discuss the week’s happenings with the students. This helps the students to be better enriched with the daily happenings around the world. Teachers discuss different topics for an all round development of students.

9. CLASS FEAST:-

Every class is given the name of a saint. That saint is the patron of that class. Students celebrate the saint’s birthday as their feast day.The students perform variety of entertainment programmes on the feast day.The whole school gathers for the celebration.

10. SONGS TO SOOTHEN THE LUNCH BREAK:-

During the lunch break devotional songs are played through the loud speaker.This creates a peaceful atmosphere in the school.

11. CUMULATIVE RECORDS:-

From the moment a child joins SEEMS, all records of his activities,his personal details are filed and kept safety in the school for future reference.Detailed records of the students like anecdotal record, health record, all – inclusive progress card are stored in the school.

12. ASSEMBLY IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES:-

The school mastered different languages through the assembly conducted on different days.Assembly is conducted in English,Malayalam,Italian and Hindi.Students even mastered a foreign language Italian.

13. NIGHT CLASS FOR X STD STUDENTS AND REMEDIAL COACHING:-

The SEEMS family helps the slow learners of std X and those students who cannot put in their best efforts due to the home environment,by giving extra coaching from 6 pm to 9 pm. Remedial coaching is given to the slow learners of other classes too.

14. VISIT TO ORPHANAGES :-

SEEMS family often visit orphanages and homes for the disabled to be a part of their life.The students donate study materials,grains and money to these homes.

15. LEADERSHIP ENHANCEMENT:-

Every month student leaders are selected from respective classes and honored with a badge in front of the assembly.This helps to instill leadership qualities in them and make them hold responsible positions in their life.

16. LEARNING THROUGH SPIRITUALITY:-

SEEMS gives importance to spirituality.Students and teachers attend value based camps by eminent priests and other resource personalities to move ahead in the journey of life and become closer to God.

SEEMS family honors the grand parents every year by celebrating the grand parents’ day.The love the grand parents share with the grand children is unconditional.Teachers, Students and grand parents make this day special every year.SEEMS has helped the children to bring about a positive change in the out took towards grandparents.
